Koala Naming Competition
Our local community is home to two incredibly cute koala joeys, born right here in the Jamboree Ward at Pooh Corner, Wacol. They’re the pride of our area, and guess what? They don’t have names yet.
These joeys were born to our beloved koala parents, “Olive” and “Lady Jane,” around March/April 2024. One of them is a little boy, and both are starting to explore on their own, though still sticking close to Mum. It's a thrilling time for all of us, and we want to make sure our local school-aged children are involved in this special moment.
We’re looking for a list of five (5) boy names and five (5) girl names to choose from – not only for these joeys but for any future little ones that may come along.
We’d love for students to get creative and submit their best name ideas. I will review all submissions and select the top five boy and five girl names. And, of course, there’s a special surprise for the lucky winning names.
Students can register their Koala name suggestions (one boy and one girl name each) at the office by Monday 31st March.
Thank you so much for supporting this fun and meaningful community initiative.
